Idah primary school, Okai primary school; Ekpenede primary schools combined 6 blocks with 4 classrooms in each block.The wisdom behind relocating the 3 schools to Ezoti Primary School is that Governor Obaseki is constructing 10 blocks of many classrooms in Ezoti Primary School. One block alone has 16 classrooms, 3 blocks have 6 classrooms each, 5 blocks have 4 classrooms each and others. There is wisdom in relocating the 3 schools to Ezoti because the educational facilities have been upgraded by the governor.

As some primary schools are giving way to first modern bus terminal in Benin City, Governor Obaseki is building and equipping Ezoti Primary School to accommodate pupils from those schools. The Edo state government has closed the temporary central bus terminal at Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre premises and moved commuters and drivers in the Benin metropolis to the proposed central park which would be completed soon. The construction of the ultra-modern bus parks will include a major bus park to be used for intercity and intracity commuters at Obakhavbaye as the use of Oba Akenzua Cultural Center as a bus station was only a temporal provision.

Governor Godwin Obaseki has started the construction of a new mega bus terminal and a commercial tower complex that will improve transit connections and transform the municipality’s skyline. Obasek has promised to build with red roof Ezoti Primary School, Ogbe in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State and equip it with modern furniture. He explained that Ezoti primary school will serve the educational need of children that are attending. The Governor has transformed Idah primary school, Okai primary school; Ekpenede primary school and the government landed property opposite Evbuotubu Motor Park to central bus terminal. The project, which is expected to be completed soon, is part of the governor’s initiatives to upgrade bus terminals across the state to improve transportation. When completed, the project, which is the first of its kind, would have a parking space of many intercity and intra-city buses, many Metro Mass buses and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses. Apart from transportation services, the terminal will also have business centres, including restaurants, shops and offices, which could be accessed by all passengers and the general public. The completion of this terminal will therefore improve transport services and the full operation of the modern terminal Corridor. This terminal will also serve as a major transfer hub for intercity and intra-city transport services.

Ezoti Primary School project has been met with very positive community response, and has had an astounding effect on curriculum and the general learning environment to accommodate pupils from Idah primary school, Okai primary school; Ekpenede primary school. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has, in continuation of the decongestion process to clean up Edo State, inspected the city centre, Ring Road and its environs, where he moved to recover government properties and promised to build a central bus terminal. The governor assured the people of the state that the discomfort accompanying the clean-up process was ephemeral and would soon pass as his administration had exhibited readiness to recover all government lands and erect a central bus terminal to further decongest the city centre. “We are trying to decongest Ring Road and Oba market to open up the bottle neck because the city centre has become choked with people selling by the roadside and transporters picking passengers by the road side. One of the challenges facing traffic is that we do not have a central terminal, but we have identified government properties where we can build central bus terminal,” he said.

Plans by the state government to build modern bus terminals in Benin City, would facilitate the development of an integrated transport system for the state’s mass transit scheme. The construction of the bus terminals will improve the transport system in the state and make it more organised. This will enable transport companies to develop schedule for bus service and a Passenger Information System through which passengers can have access to information relating to arrival and departure times well ahead of their boarding the vehicles
