BENIN CITY. The attacked and killing of the lives of professionals in the State and beyond has been on rampage.
Recently,one Barr. Kingsley Odaro Imadonmwiyi was attacked by some youth from Egbean Community of Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State. It was gathered that the lawyer solicited for bail applications of some gay suspect who were members of LGBTQ community,it was further revealed that the gay suspect jumped bail and the lawyer was accused of being a gay and a supporter of the activities of LGBTQ in the society,the said lawyer had fled the Country with his family after several attacked on their lives and properties.
Also in the news was the gruesome murder of Dr Nosa Daniel Eriematoe who was shot in his clinic at No.20 Okhoro Road,Benin City,as at the time of this report,the reason for the gruesome murder was unknown.
Moreso, Barr. Oviawe Benjamin who was kidnapped on his way to Edo State High Court,Sapele Road,Benin City by unknown gunmen,at the time of this report,his family are still negotiating with the said kidnappers who are demanding huge sum of money for him to regain his freedom. The Edo State NUJ chapter recently organized a Townhall meeting with all the stakeholders in the security matters in the State with a theme ” Enabling Environment For All”,the need for adequate protection and ensuring that every professionals life in the State are protected.
There was also need for the Police to ensure that the lives and properties of every citizen are protected at all cost.
