BENIN CITY – The Itsekiri National Youths Congress INYC which is the umbrella body of Itsekiri youths worldwide, have endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for a second term.

President of INYC, Comrade Esimaje Awani, at a press briefing late Monday, in Warri, Delta State, underscored the achievements of Okowa as the reason for their endorsement.

“Being ever watchful of the events and trends of the past three and a half years, I have seen a massive investment in our micro economy by the training and establishing of over 20,000 person in their in their choice enterprise, I have read of the 100,000 private sector jobs created through programmes and activities of MDAs.

” I have seen a road rehabilitation revolution that has given the state’s dilapidated roads structure a facelift.

“I have also seen a huge wave of classroom renovations to create a better learning environment for the children.

” I was also aware of the Universal Health Coverage Scheme that already has almost 500,000 persons enrolled in it”.

The Itsekiri youths body which described Okowa as the best among the various governorship candidates of the various parties in the coming general elections, also said, it was only fair to allow the people of Delta North have their full tenure of eight years based on the zoning arrangement in the state.

Comrade Awani, who was flanked by Secretary of INYC, Comrade Humphrey Tuoyo and others, adjudged as “injustice to the good people of Delta State not to consolidate on the growth that has been made.”

While saying it would be tragic to stop what they termed the “train of progress”, Awani , therefore, urged the electorate to rally round Governor Okowa for the realisation of his second term bid.
