BENIN CITY – The Edo House of Assembly on Tuesday constituted a 6-man transition committee to ensure a smooth transition from the 6th assembly to the 7th assembly.
The Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto, said that the 6-man transition committee would be headed by Hon.Emmanuel Agbaje .
Other members of the committee are Ojo Asein, Festus Edughele, Kingsley Ugabi and Nosayaba Okunbor.
According to the speaker, The clerk of the house, Mr.Yahaya Omogbai will serve as the secretary of the committee .
It will be recalled that the present assembly which was inaugurated on 8th June 2015 is expected to come to an end on June 7,2019.
Meanwhile, the house during plenary adopted a resolution directing the state civil service commission to reinstate Mr.Victor Lawani to enable him complete the mandatory years of service.
The resolution also directed the commission to pay Lawani all his entitlement from the day he was prematurely retired from service to date.
The adoption of the resolution was sequel to the consideration of the report on a petition by Mr.Victor Lawani following the jailbreak at the Children Correctional Centre, Ugbekun
conconsequently leading to his premature retirement from service on January 8,2017.
