ASABA – A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), in Delta State, Mr Paul Odili has lamented the persist crisis rocking the boat of the State APC, and appealed to President Mohammed Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo to use their infinite wisdoms to nib it in the bud for the progress of the party now and the new future.
Odili, a candidate of APC contested the Ukwani/Ndokwa federal constituency who lost to incumbent lawmaker Mr Nicholas Ossai at the just concluded National Assemby election, also appealed to the members of the party to shield their sword and come together to avoid Delta APC losing a juicy positions at the federal level.
He told Journalists on Monday in Asaba that “The crisis may denial us a serious recognitions and appointment at the federal level as the same crisis cause our poor performance at the elections in the state”.
According to him, “If we were working as a team, we would have performed optimally. Again, the court cases in our party has become a weapon that they are using to divide us. And PDP is benefiting much in this APC crisis.
” Therefore, for APC to make progress, all party members must come together and unit for the interest of us all who were candidates is being affected by the court judgement especially those that won the elections.
While thanking the leadership of the party for zoning the Deputy Senate President to south -south region, Odili remarked that the two ranking Senators of the APC in the region are from Edo and Delta but urged the leadership of party to consider Delta state for the position.
“Give Delta opportunity to participate at the leadership of the 9th National Assembly. Elections are over, we are looking forward for a new administration and we thanked our party for zoning the posion to south-south. Apart from PDP senators, the two ranking senators in APC are Senator Ovie Omo-agege from Delta and Senator Francis Alimekhena from Edo therefore, we appealed to consider Delta” he appealed.
