Benin – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has deployed several policies and programmes with immense benefits to Nigerians.
The Edo State directorate of the Agency which made this known on Tuesday, at a One-Day sensitization workshop on the communication of Government policies, programmes, and activities apt on the need for citizens to be informed about government projects in order to leverage on the benefits therein.
Edo NOA Acting Director, Mrs Grace Eseka said, it is the principal objective of the Agency to inform, educate, enlighten, and sensitize the citizenry on Government’s policies, programmes, and activities as well as mobilize favourable public opinion and support.
Mrs Eseka posited that, information is power hence the people needed to be “well informed” on national issues to be able to contribute their quota to nation building, adding, the Agency’s feedback report to Government have been able to make input into the decision-making process in policy formulation.
Earlier, Chairman of the occasion and Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon Paul Ohonbamu commended the Agency for the sensitization programme as it will expose what Government has done, and doing for the people.
The Commissioner who was represented by a Director in the Ministry, Ms Cynthia Uwagboe explained that the programme will further raise public awareness.
However, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Edo Ministry of Health and the State Social Investment Programme took turns to reel out what the government has done through their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
