BENIN CITY- Acting Governor, Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has warned against indiscriminate  parking on Osuan  Road, popularly known as Vegetable Market, off Airport Road, to make for ease of vehicular movement.

Shaibu who had to stop over for an impromptu dialogue with the traders, when he ran into a traffic gridlock, harped on the need for customers and shop owners to park on one side of the road so as not to obstruct vehicular and human movement.

He made them understand that if they had to park their cars on the road whilst transacting businesses, compounded by the influx of  customers dashing in and out of the market, the pressure on the road as a major link to other roads/ streets is better imagined than described..

Baring their minds on this development, the traders alleged that the gridlock is usually caused by people who parked their cars arbitrarily on both sides of the road without necessarily coming to patronise  them.

They also complained about security operatives wjo tow vehicles of their customers.

Haven listened carefully, the Acting Governor ordered state operatives to stop forthwith from indiscriminate impounding of  vehicles of customers at the market, except those who violate traffic rules of double parking. He tasked the vegetable market internal security to give him feedback on this development in the coming week.
