BENIN CITY – A United Kingdom (UK) – based Businessman and Industrialist, Mr. Monday Ohuimuwen has berated the Immigration Authorities in Nigeria for allegedly frustrating industrialists in Nigeria.

  Mr. Ohuimuwen, who is engaged in distributive business told The Nigerian OBSERVER that the guidelines on the entry Visa on Arrival Programme Posted in the Nigeria Immigration Portal were misleading, resulting in the deportation of Business Partners who are invited to do business in Nigeria.

  According to Mr. Ehuimuwen, who said he had invited both Norwegians and British nationals to Nigeria based on the information contained in the Nigeria Immigration Portal, regarding Entry Visa on Arrival Programme lamented that, having followed the guidelines to the letter, his business partners were still deported on Arrival at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.

  He further explained that whereas the Immigration authorities were supposed to allow invited business partners, who had followed the guidelines on the Entry Visa on Arrival Programme to the letter, they have instead, formed the habit of deporting them under very flimsy excuses that they ought to have got approval in their home country before traveling to Nigeria.

  The said approval, Mr. Ohuimuwen insisted, was not contained in the guidelines posted on the portal of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

  He said besides frustrating industrialists and their foreign partners, the activities of the immigration authorities were also creating integrity problem for Nigerian businessman in Nigeria.

  Ohuimuwen therefore appealed to the authorities concerned to, as a matter of urgency, review the said guidelines and update same, so as not to continue to frustrate genuine businessmen and women who relied on the guidelines, only to be misled at the end of the day.

  Mr. Ohuimuwen expressed sadness at the way and manner, his boss, a British national, Mr. Wyatt Norman, was humiliated and deported to the United Kingdom having fully complied with the requirements for Entry Visa on arrival Programme.

  Meanwhile, Mr. Monday Ohuimuwen has commended Governor Godwin Obaseki, and the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II for introducing and facilitating the Private Property Protection (PPP) headed by Solomon Arase in the state. He particularly lauded Oba Ewuare II for promoting peace and tranquility in Edo land through the way he handles conflicts arising from land matters and other related issues.

  Ohuimuwen also hailed the Presidency for the Gun Licence Revoked Bill which he noted will stem the spate of violent crimes in Nigeria.

Benin Club Hosts Children’s Party Today

  BENIN CITY – The popular Benin Club in Benin City, in conjunction with candy land, will today, host children’s party to mark the 2019 Children’s Day which comes up on May 27, every year.

  A statement issued by the social secretary, Benin Club, Comrade Uyi Osarentin explained that children of diverse backgrounds were expected at the party, stressing that there will not be discrimination of any sort.

  According to Comrade Osarentin, “it’s the children’s party in Benin Club and this year, we have decided to include orphans and less privileged to come have great fun with the children of the rich and privileged.”

  The statement also adds that time for the party is 10:00am, while venue is the Benin Club, adding that fantastic prizes to be won include Bicycle, Music Box, GSM phones and lots more. Gate fee, according to the statement is free.
