The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a widow, one Mrs. Maureen lsi Aigbe for her involvement in lesbianism an offence punishable by law as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution with a 14 years jail term if found guilty.
The Edo state born indigene Maureen lsi Aigbe who recently lost her husband in controversial circumstances was accused by her in-laws of abominable act which is responsible for the untimely death of her husband.
It was gathered that her partner one Linda Eribodise Oshin has been on the run for an alleged crime of lesbianism which is against the law in Nigeria. Its an abomination and shameless act contrary to the customs and traditions of the people.
Investigation revealed that Linda Oshin who has gone into hiding from the law is said to be bisexual and was said to have been involved in the act of lesbianism since her secondary school days at the age of 15years in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State. She has been involved in several homosexual relationship without the knowledge of her family and friends. The act continued even while she was in higher Institution.
Report had it that while in higher Institution in Rivers State, she (Linda Eribodise Amaran) was an active member of a lesbian group with some other students in the school.
It was reported in the news that some cultists who were not pleased with their behaviour invaded their hostel and raped four of them. One of the victims Felicia Iyire who tried to resist the rapists was killed in the process. The girls were taken to the hospital for medical attention after the rape and results confirmed them to be infected with HIV.
Further investigations also revealed that she was also engaged with another lover identified as Funke Salako while working at one of the new generation bank in Lagos and was dismissed.
Linda Oshin who got married at the Ikoyi Federal Marriage Registry on the 25th April, 2013 to Ayodele Oshin who has been a social campaigner for Medical Care for HIV/AIDs and LGBT Members and also championing the course from his NYSC days in 2004 – 2005 in Igueben, Edo state.
The activities of the group “crusader for free medical care for LGBT” was stopped in Igueben by the Esan youth following the order from the traditional leader and elders of the Igueben community. The group was stopped from holding its first public conference while serving in the community. Mr. Ayodele Oshin has kept secret the bisexual nature of his wife from family and the public.
However, Linda Oshin was not in the good books of her mother-in-law Madam Adunni Oshin because of her childlessness in her marriage of over five years. The childlessness has allegedly led to several abuses and maltreatment from her in-laws.
On the 1st of April 2019, Linda Oshin was caught pant down with her secret lover and partner Maureen lsi Aigbe who ran away from Edo to Lagos State after she refused the three months compulsory traditional mourning for her late husband.
Information made available to newsmen stated that Linda Oshin has been on retroviral drugs to keep her health, but the exposure of her personality as a result of the lesbians allegation has denied her access to the drugs and might have been the reason she went hiding for fear of arrest.
Speaking to journalists on the issue, Madam Adunni Oshin said “Ayodele Oshin the husband to Linda Oshin, is my son and I need a grandchild from him. They have been married for more than five years with no child and my daughter-in-law shows no concerns, but was secretly practicing lesbianism which is a taboo in our culture and traditions.
“After several spiritual consultations, the spiritual head of our family revealed that the childlessness of my daughter-in-law was due to some abominable act she is practicing. This made us to keep monitoring her until she was caught in the act of lesbianism with a neighbour who pretended to be a good family friend but unknown to us she was her lesbian partner.
“When I noticed the frequent closeness of the duo, I monitored them with some other concerns neighbours until that faithful day when I sneak into her husband’s room and was shocked to see Maureen and Linda having sex on her matrimonial bed. I shouted and people around came in to see the abominable act.
“Before then, I have already took photos of their activities. The evidence are clear and here is it. I have no personal hatred for her, but her attitude, because it’s awkward and unacceptable, said the mother-in-law.
“Maureen lsi Aigbe received the beaten of her life because we all knew her in the neighborhood as a decent woman who lost her husband and we were supporting and helping her to overcome the trauma of the death of her husband unknown to us, she is into lesbianism and was practicing it with my daughter-in-law. She managed to escape before my son came.
“Few days later, one of our family members reported the issue to the police after they saw the photos of them committing the abominable act and were invited to explain the situation to the family and participate in rituals cleansing but she refused. I thank God that the police has been able to get her partner Maureen as my son and his wife have been on the run.
“We are hoping that she would be arrested and sentenced to jail so that my son can focus and move on with his life. I’m glad her photos with that of her partner has gone viral as she cannot hide for that long without her being arrested”.
