Warri – A yet to be identified man has been reportedly burnt death by fire while trying to light a stick of cigarette.
The incident which happened at about 8:30 pm on the ever busy Airport Road by The Champions Cathedral of The Redeemed Christian Church , Warri, was said to have involved a woman and the deceased.
A source told the Nigerian Observer that the lady whose identity was still sketchy as at press time was driving when and had a Jerry can of fuel in the trunk of her car before he pick up the young man.
The deceased , it was gathered , while was under the influence of alcohol, lit a cigarette which immediately ignited the fire and the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Although the female driver was said to have managed to escape, with some burns, the drunk smoker was however was unlucky as he was burnt beyond recognition.
As at the time of filing this report, the carcass of the vehicle and the charred remains of the victim were yet to be removed from the scene,thereby causing a gridlock as both passersby and motorists tried to catch a glimpse of the burnt vehicle.
