Abudu: Youths across the twelve political wards in Orhionmwon local government area, Edo state has advise everyone in the state that the second term of Governor Godwin Obaseki is not negotiable.
The youths who came out in large numbers gave this advise in Abudu the administrative headquarter of the council
during the 2019 summit of Orhionmwon youth alliance, the umbrella body for various youth forum in the area on Saturday, saying, they are aligning with the reality of good governers base on the track record of the present administration.
The summit convener , Deacon Jonathan Okunbor told journalist that they are numeriuos obvious reason why the governor should be consider for a second term to consolidate on the positive precedent on ground.
He said, the coming out of Orhionmown in support for what the governor is doing is a sign to pursue continuity beyond 2020. And that they do not want the Benin-Abraka Road that is key to Orhionmwon development abandoned.
According to him” Orhionmwon local government use to be one of the most backward in Edo State before the modest intervention of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, and the current effort by Governor Godwin Obaseki to completely open up the local government to economic activities by embarking on very ambitious projects, policy adjustment and human capital remodeling, we can not take this for granted, is it Obaseki or no deal”
“we cannot afford to gamble with the bird at hand and also cant afford to have abandoned projects by Obaseki scattered around Orhionmwon rather we can only behave like Oliver Twist to continue to ask for more pressing needs particularly in the area of job creation for the youths”
Other youth like Comr Osaretin Eribo, Liberty Omoruyi said the state can not afford to lose a productive governor such as Obaseki all because of greed.
“We are very ready in Orhionmwon, this is a golden opportunity to change the narrative of the state and our dear LGA. We want Obaseki to carry go. One good turn deserve more than another.
The event tagged: Orhionmwon yesterday, today and tomorrow witness the convener and other youths unanimous resolving to throwing their weight behind Governor Godwin Obaseki’s giant stride in Orhionmwon in particular and Edo state in general with various songs of struggle all for the support of Godwin Obaseki.
