BENIN CITY – The Osuivie of Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM. William Unuajohowfia Onokpite I on Monday conferred titles on three deserving sons of the kingdom.

The event held at the Palace in Agbarho Community today.

Amongst the beneficiaries of the titles is, Chief &Mrs. Israel Ogidigben who was conferred with the “Ofuovie” title of Agbarho Kingdom.

While Chief&Chief(Mrs.) Edirin Endurance Owumi bagged the “Ugboduma” and “Aduviekeya” titles of Agbarho Kingdom.

Chief Ufuoma Etuweire was also conferred with the “Orhieroghenebruru” title of Agbarho Kingdom.

In a chat with newsmen, the Ofuovie 1of Agbarho Kingdom, Chief Israel Ogidigben expressed happiness saying, “It was long overdue”.

Chief Ogidigben who noted that he merited the ” Ofuovie1 ” title which was conferred on him said, “It was my great grandfather, King Erhidi 1, who was the first king of Agbarho kingdom, thus, making him the first person that brought the kingship into this kingdom.”

Chief Ogidigben said because nobody was forthcoming for the title, his family deemed it fit that he stepped forward for the title first so that others can follow after him.

Chief Ogidigben noted that he has been committed to the development of Agbarho Community.

“There’s a project I do for my Community in memory of my late father every year. I buy notebooks, writing materials for Ewhere Primary School.

” That I started about two years ago and it is still on. By the grace of God and all things being equal, by the end of the seven days, I plan to dedicate this title to my late father and my late grand parents.”

Chief Ogidigben called on the Delta State Government to provide basic amenities to impoverished and marginalized people of the various Communities so as to sustain the existing peace in the State.

While noting that as a “Justice of Peace”JP, and business person, they are trying to ensure that the State is peaceable for foreigners and dwellers.

” So, my message to the Government is that it is the Government’s responsibility to provide utilities like water, electricity, good roads, health care facilities and good schools for the people in the State.”

Chief Ogidigben said that as an individuals and business people they have tried in providing basic amenities for the people on behalf of the Government.”

While noting that the government has been trying, Chief Ogidigben said,”We encourage them to do more to continue to keep the peace.”

He also called on the Osuivie in Council to confer titles on only sons and daughters of Agbarho Kingdom whose sources of income are genuine, like contractors and people who have legitimate jobs. This he said ,he would encourage them in their contributions to the development of their land.

Chief Isreal and chief (Mrs) Caro Okiemute Ogidigben are also the Erute and Ewewu of Effurun-Otor Kingdom respectively; titles which were conferred on them by HRM King Johnson Enemuadia Yvwino Duku 11, the Orovworere of Effurun- Otor in 2017.
