The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has vowed to use a non-conviction based asset forfeiture to deny corrupt persons the use of stolen funds.

Edo State commissioner of the agency, Barr. Yusuf Olatunji stated this recently in Benin City, the State capital, as part of the activities to celebrate the 2019 African Union Anti-Corruption Day.

Mr Olatunji said, vulnerable citizens suffer one denial or the other in social service, physical infrastructure when any amount of money is stolen from public coffers no matter how small.

According to him, “the negative impact of corruption on African continent’s economic development is obvious, the bulk of illicit Africa finance that leaves Africa through illicit flow annually is mind blowing”
