Umoghun-Zuagboe – The chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area(LGA), Hon. Silvester Okoro yesterday distributed relief materials to victims of the recent flood disaster which affected the three communities of Obazagbon-nugu, Evbonogbon, and Umoghun-Zuagboe in the area.

The materials, donated by the Edo state government, were handed over to the flood victims, by the council chairman, at the palace of the Enogie of Umoghun-Zuagboe, HRH Kingsley Iyayomwangbe.

The materials include 20 bags of rice; 20 bags of beans; 20 gallons of red oil; 20 gallons of vegetable oil; 105 bundles of roofing sheets and 42 bags of 3-inch nails.

Other materials include 42 bags of 4-inch nails and 42 packs of zinc nails.

Speaking briefly during the exercise, Hon. Okoro thanked the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for providing succour to those affected by the flood disaster.

The chairman who also handed over 10 bundles of zinc, bags of nails, and 1 gallon of red oil, to Mrs Okoro, a victim of a fire disaster at Ugo community, praised the victims for their believe in Governor Obaseki.

On his part, The Enogie of Umoghun-Zuagboe commended the state government for coming to the aid of the people, saying “we are highly impressed with what the governor has done for us”.

Also, one of the victims who spoke on behalf of others, Chief Augustine Amadin said the relief materials came as a surprise, as they “never believed it would ever come as promised”.

He expressed the victims appreciation to the state government for the gesture.
