BENIN CITY – The Nigerian Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has congratulated the University of Benin football team for booking the semi final ticket at the ongoing 2019 Higher Institution Football League played across the Country.
Recall the Uniben Royals who had earlier defeated UniIlorin 1-0 at home in their first leg encounter progressed to the semi final on away goal rule having lost 2-1 in their second leg at Illorin.
The NFF President gave the commendation while speaking to Sports writers shortly after the second leg encounter in Illorin, advising the team to be focused in the last phase of the tournament.
The Uniben football team would be squaring up against Enugu State University of Technology in a two legged showdown scheduled for September 25 and October 9.
The finals is billed to hold in Lagos by October 26, 2019.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filling this report, information available to Observer Sports indicated that the Uniben team led by the University Director of Sports, Dr. Mrs F.I. Egbese were already on their way to Benin.
