BENIN CITY- Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has expressed the willingness of the state government to partner with SilverBird Communications to drive the proper process of information dissemination.

He gave the assurance against the background of fake news emanating from some quarters which has been a source of concern to the government.

The Deputy Governor barred his mind when he received the new management of SilverBird Communications Limited who was in his office on courtesy call. The team, led by it’s Business Manager, Andrew Bello stated that fake news was real and very active in our society.

Shaibu told his visitors that partnering with them was necessary since their television and radio station enjoyed about 80 per cent viewing and listening followership of youths who drive the state’s economy.

He noted that with the composition of youths powering Edo State, STV Management Team, made it much easier to align with and drive the vision of the founder, Ben Murray-Bruce, a keen entertainment buff.

The percentage followership of youths, he stated, positions the station at aligning with government towards making Edo State headquarters of the film world even if Lagos remains the commercial city of entertainment in Nigeria.

In a related development, the Deputy Governor talked about his undying interest in the repositioned Bendel Insurance FC now showing class at the Ifeanyi Okowa pre-season tournament holding in Delta State.
