UROMI – One of Nigeria’s foremost secret Fraternity (name withheld) has allegedly declared wanted, one Mr. Ibadin Wellington, dead or alive for refusing to be initiated as member in replacement of his late father, Mr. Patrick Ibadin who died in June 2019.

The National Head of the cult, made the declaration at their Annual National convention in Lagos, August 2019 when they discovered that the late Patrick’s next of kin fled and refused to be initiated.

Wellington was however declared wanted with promise of a ransom to anybody who can provide useful information that could lead to his apprehension to face the music and be summarily dealt with for going against their norm to replace his late father.

The NIGERIAN OBSERVER learnt that Wellington fled his home when he got wind that the Fraternity Chief Priest and others were coming to bury his father and perform his initiation immediately after interment of the deceased.

According to reports, when a member dies, his next of kin automatically replaces him with immediate initiation rites in the Sacred Order of the Fraternity,

Reports also had it that if any next of kin violates their rule on the demise of a member, the recalcitrant fellow will be sanctioned to die, adding that issues of such like Wellington goes with a ransom for anybody who can provide useful information on his whereabouts to the nearest police station anywhere in the country or report to the “Olori Apena” himself at the headquarters.

Following the manhunt for Wellington by the Youth Wing of the cult tasked to fish him out; his father’s house was torched, while his mother, Mrs. Regina Ibadin escaped with the rest of her children to unknown destination.

An elder of the Fraternity who doesn’t want his name in print told The NIGERIAN OBSERVER that the action was to serve as deterrent to would-be defaulters and deprive them from renouncement of their late father’s membership and refusal of initiation into the fold, pointing out that they met it like that from ages past, and nobody can change the norm.

It will be recalled that late Patrick Ibadin allegedly killed one of his sons in a mysterious manner suspected to be cult related mastermind.

His son, Ibadin Wellington who was born on the 2nd day of February 1975 in Sabon Gariin Kano, Kano State, came to Uromi, Edo State to perform his late father’s funeral in July 2019 but fled immediately before the burial ceremony commenced, following the initial threats to his life for refusal to be initiated to replace his late father.
