BENIN CITY – As the World stood still last Sunday in honour of the 3rd Coronation/Birthday Anniversary of the highly revered Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, the Neo Black Movement of Africa (Worldwide), Benin Zone has felicitated with the monarch, describing him as a ‘Monarch par Excellence’.

In a Press release signed and issued by its Chapter’s President, Ambassador Osaretin Blessed, the NBM of Africa Benin Zone extolled the Oba for his uncommon wisdom, which the NBM leader opined has brought about honour, respect, humility and unprecedented development in the state.

Ambassador Osaretin described the monarch as paragon of excellence, a model worthy of emulation, adding that Oba Ewuare II has championed the course of development in Edo State and the World at large.

He stressed that “His Royal Majesty’s love for humanity, particularly Edo state and the country has brought about overwhelming serenity and progress in the land”.

While acknowledging the monarch’s effort geared towards championing the course of black civilisation across the globe, the Movement joined Benins at home and in diaspora to pray for God’s continuous guidance, protection for the monarch whose reign, it said, has brought uncommon peace to the people.

In a related development, NBM Benin Zone has eulogised the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu over their dispositions in bringing good governance across the three senatorial districts in the State.

Its enjoined the people of the state to remain unwavering in their continuous support for the present government in order to achieve its social contract with the people.

The Benin Zonal Chapter of NBM also lauded Rt. Hon Ogbeide Ihama, member representing Oredo Federal Constituency who is also the House Committee Chairman on Culture and Tourism as well as Hon Osazee Ero, Edo State Commissioner for Art, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs on their doggedness and resilience in ensuring that Edo State hosted the 2019 National Festival Of Art And Culture.

The body however appealed to all Edolites to massively turn out enmass to showcase it’s rich and encharming cultural heritage with a view to participating in the NAFEST programme, just as its charged the good people of Edo State to be receptive and hospitable to visitors throughout the period in the state.

The NBM Benin Zone also admonished youths across the state to shun all forms of social vices capable of undermining the progress of the state, maintaining that no meaningful development can thrive in an environment that is devoid of peace and harmony.

To ensure Tranquility in the state before, during and after the NAFEST Activities, the movement further reiterated its resolve to continually partner with the state government, security agencies and other critical stakeholders in the security sector towards achieving peace, tranquility and progress in the state.
