BENIN CITY – The operatives of Edo Police Command have apprehended a suspected Inter-state robber recovering a Toyota Highlander Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) from him.
The suspect, Abiodun Oluwafemi allegedly stole the vehicle marked SMK -289 EA from where it was parked in a mechanic workshop in Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
The Commissioner of Police in Edo State CP Lawan Tanko Jimeta paraded the suspect before journalists at the state police command headquarters in Benin City, last weekend.
CP Lawan said the vehicle was intercepted by operatives on a stop-and-search operation along Lagos-Benin Expressway on Sunday, December 8, 2019.
Speaking with journalists during the parade, the suspect Abiodun Oluwafemi said he stole the vehicle from a car watch in Ajegunle, Lagos State.
He said he was driving it to Warri in Delta State where he intended to sell it to a waiting buyer when he was arrested at Okada junction, along Benin-Lagos Expressway in Edo State.
