Pandemonium erupted in Uselu community in Benin City when Residential buildings, cars and property worth millions of naira went up in flames after an invasion by unknown gunmen on May 8th 2020 .
The raging inferno, it was gathered, was started by some angry unknown gunmen who were after one Victor Edebor who managed to escape unhurt during the attack.
Confirmed report in Uselu community had it that he narrowly escaped the unknown gunmen when news broke that he was allegedly responsible for using his deceased girlfriend for alleged money rituals.
It was also gathered that his girlfriend simply identified as Marian was the daughter of a prominent Alhaji Abdullahi Kadiri who received the news of the death of his only child with rude shock .
According to sources who spoke on conditions of annonymity, Marian was alleged to have carried out an abortion to terminate a pregnancy she was carrying without the consent of her boyfriend.
However, she was later pronounced dead following complications arising from the abortion, it was gathered.
Alhaji Abdullahi Kadiri unsatisfied with the controversial circumstances surrounding report of his daughter’s death reported the incident at a nearby police station as alleged ritual murder .
He also placed a ransom of 5 million naira to any member of the public with useful information that could lead to the whereabouts of the fleeing Victor Edebor who was declared wanted.
It is common knowledge among many local residents in the community that the angry Alhaji Abdullahi Kadiri allegedly ordered the unknown gunmen after Victor Edebor who however managed to escape during the invasion.
Meanwhile, efforts to obtain comments from the family of the deceased girlfriend proved unsuccessful as no relatives of Alhaji Abdullahi Momodu was willing to grant any interview at the time of this report as they equally requested to be allowed to mourn their loss without further intrusion.
