BENIN CITY – One of the accredited observers for Saturday’s Edo Governoship election, Advocates for People Right and Justice has released it’s findings of the election.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Barr. Victor Giwa and made available to The Nigerian OBSERVER in Benin City, the group noted that”Generally, the election was free, fair and transparent and security operatives were at their fair moment.”

The findings were from its monitoring of the election in 10 out of the 18 Local Government Areas in the State.

It acknowledged the large turnout of voters, despite rumoured imminent violence and the downpour.

The group however noted that there were pockets of violence, especially in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area and in parts of Orhionmwon Local Government Area.

The group also acknowledged the visible high security presence in polling units, Streets and the highway and commended the civil, orderly and friendly disposition of security personnel at different locations while the election lasted.
