Following the petition written by some Nigeria activities against the Buhari’s administration over the killings of unarmed youths protesting against police brutality and bad governance , the government has accused some actors of inciting the public against it

The United Kingdom Parliament on had Monday, November 23, 2020, as the date to debate the Implement sanctions against the Nigerian Government and officials over the petition raised by different Nigerians at home and in the diaspora over police brutality and #EndSARS protest by Nigerian youths.

In a reaction, officials of the government accused some entertainments, politicians, and rights activists as those behind the petition against Nigeria and inciting the public against the authority.

Entertainers, DJ Switch, Falz, political and rights activists Nnamdi Knau, Silas Ojo, Darlington Okpebholo-Ray, Deji Adeyanju, and many others were mentioned by the statement issued by a spokesman security operatives in Lagos as the sponsors of the protests and have been put on alert.

While DJ Switch and Nnamdi Kanu are said to have fled the country to Canada and the UK respectively, the whereabouts of the rest were unknown.

Okpebholo-Ray also known to have used his news media to support the protesting youths by publishing live images from the protest on the internet through his Olika Reporters news

Darlington Okpebholo-Ray who was among those who raised and signed the Petition to the UK parliament has with some rights activists consistently raised their voices against the insecurity situation in Nigeria having been a victim himself.

Recall that Okpebholo Ray had last year narrowly escaped being abducted along Abuja-Kaduna highway by suspected fulani herdsmen.

The rights activist cum publisher had mounted a campaign against the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen and criminal gangs in the country, which has continuously accused the government of Muhammadu Buhari of failing to protect the lives of the citizens of Nigeria.
