LAGOS – Few days after the EndSARS protest at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, there are strong indications that security operatives have launched a manhunt for the main actors in the protest.

The protest which spread across many states of Nigeria was a call on the appropriate authorities to disband the Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) and put an end to perceived corruption and high handedness of Police personnel.

It was gathered that the protest which did not go down well with the various security agencies was seen as an attempt to cause civil unrest, as well as breach public peace. Plain clothes security personnel, notably the Police and the Directorate of State Security (DSS)personnel have embarked on raid of houses in Lekki and it environs in search for organisers of the event.

Some of the organisers of the protest that are of interest to security personnel are Adebo Adebayo, DJ Switch, George Ibikunle, Fadel Etuks, Moemeke Jesuit Fidelis and Eze Emodi. These people, according to security sources are believed to be the masterminds of the protest.

At the residence of one of the organisers and activist, Moemeke Jesuit Fidelis, the security personnel were said to have threatened his wife with arrest unless on the allegation that she knows her husband’s whereabouts.

It was reliably gathered that security agencies have also resorted to freezing the account of identified protesters and perceived sponsors. As at press time, many of the perceived sponsors are said to have gone into hiding as a way of evading arrest
