According to Senator Kyari, the budget will be signed and passed before the Christmas break when the National Assembly resumes from its recess on the 24th of November, 2020. ” We are taking this step because of the resolution reached by the National Assembly to return the nation’s budget cycle to January to December”, he said .
The Senator disclosed that the government is not embarking on new projects but rather old ones but however decried of a complete deficit of satellite towns development.
Earlier, the Minister FCTA, Mallam Muhammadu Musa Bello said the twenty twenty budget performance was hampered by covid-19 pandemic but the administration achieved about forty percent implementation.
Mallam Musa Bello further explained that the problem further became worse when the executive reviewed the MDAs budget proposals downwards, including FCTA, bringing its National budget estimate from over one hundred and nine billion naira to about fourth billion naira.
The Minister disclosed that in twenty twenty one, FCTA would concentrate more on the completion of old projects, particularly the Millennium Tour located in the city centre.
