The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Professor Mahmood Yakubu has presented the 2019 elections report that will also be used to chart a way forward in the conduct of subsequent elections in Nigeria.
The book of over five hundred pages contains assessment and recommendations by Nigerians and critical stakeholders in the electoral process.
Speaking before the presentation of the book, the National Commissioner in charge of operations, Professor Okechukwu Ibeanu said the document represents the commission’s stories for the past three years.
He said for sometimes it has been the public telling the INEC story, but now time has come for INEC to tell its own story.
The Professor Mahmood Yakubu said that the 2019 elections report is segmented into processes and procedures for the conduct of general election in the country.
He said the report has about one hundred and eighty recommendations some of which were used during Edo and Ondo states governorship election.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu further explained that the commission would continue to partner with local and international groups in the country’s elections processes.
