Benin City – For aiding and abetting a lesbian suspect ,the police in Benin have declared one Blessing Isokpan wanted.
The police said that Mrs Isokpan is wanted for aiding acts of lesbianism involving a habitual lesbian suspect Ejieh Amedu who was arrested at a Gay Night party at the University of Abuja.
Ejieh Amedu who has been on detention without trial since her re-arrest is said to be a serial offender of the same sex marriage prohibition Act of 2014,having been picked up on several occasions both at the FCT,Abuja and Benin City.
According to the police, Mrs Blessing Isokpan is on the police command’s wanted list after she was implicated by Ejieh Amedu, urging members of the public with useful information as to her whereabouts to report same at the command headquarters ,Benin City or the nearest police station.
If prosecuted, both women are liable to be convicted for 14 and ten years jail terms respectively if found guilty.
Meanwhile, mother of Ejieh Amedu is urging the police authorities to release her daughter from police cell where she has been detained since her re-arrest without trial.
But the police insist that investigation was still ongoing especially when the prime suspect is still at large.
