Benin – A middle-aged man, Jackson Okpo has alleged serious threats to his life by some members of a deadly cult group in Benin City, over his abrupt renunciation of his membership from the group, just as he had escaped being killed.
The Jackson Okpo, according to a reliable source, was said to be a member of one of the cult group. He was forced into it through the influence of one of his friends. He was subjected to public embarrassment by stripping him naked. He was surrounded by about five guys and was beaten by these guys. He was forced to pay dues. When he discovered that the mandatory activities of the cultists were evil and deadly, he renounced his membership, a development, which was not palatable to them (the cultists) hence the leadership launched a continuous manhunt against him with a view to kill. Also, for the fact that he had known the intrigues surrounding the initiation processes which the cultists suspected that he could reveal to Security Agents and the Public.
He narrowly escaped death by whisker, when he was callously attacked while on his way home. The cultists were bent on carrying out their dastardly acts on him. They vowed to invade his house in order to actualize their nefarious acts against him just because he did not want to be a cultist.
It would be recalled that many Youths had hitherto fallen prey into the hands of various cult groups both in the past and present because they have voluntarily renounced their membership after they discovered that their activities were against humanity.
Recalling how they were forced into various cult groups and aftermath actions of their cult membership, a man called Samson, who among other students said that they were forced into cultism in the University and that, after they discovered that it was not what the leadership told them while being initiated that was going on. They renounced their membership and no sooner they left the cult groups then they started threatening to kill them to the extent that some of his fellow students whose parents are rich, relocated them from the school to another Institutions for safety.
Our Correspondents asserted that the development had further confirmed the story of how a middle-aged man, name withheld had been ceaselessly terrorized by the Cultists because he renounced his membership, which is yet to unravel, a situation, which influenced his escape to avoid being killed.
