THE Igbinigie family of Iguobazuwa in Ovia Southwest Local Government Area of Edo State, have raised an alarm over the whereabouts of their son, Bright Igbinigie who they say has been missing since 2014.

Addressing a press conference, spokesperson of the family, Austin Igbinigie said their son, mysteriously disappeared while working as a motor mechanic in Kano City in August 2014.

He said that the family is afraid that their son may have been killed because they have tried all means humanly possible to look for him in and around Kano, with little success.

Mr Igbinigie said they have cause to believe that one Alhaji Bello Mustapha a businessman in Kano may have a hand in the fate that has befallen their son, because he it was who got Bright arrested and detained in July 2014.

“Our son, use to repair the cars for Alhaji Bello at his workshop and his residence. One day he was repairing a car in the residence, when he noticed a young woman, Amadu, Inie who he thought was the man’s daughter crying”.

“Bright consoled the girl and they became friends but later fell in love with the girl. But trouble started when the girl became pregnant and Bright was arrested and detained on the Alhaji’s complain.

“From here we sent people to Kano to beg the Alhaji because the girl turned out to be the Alhaji’s 5th wife. He told us then that he will deal with both Bright and the wife, who has committed adultery and ought to be stoned to death.

“We came back home disappointed though we were hopeful that since the Police was involved, all will be well. But as we speak now, we never heard from him again. It was recently that we were told that as far back as August 2014 he got bailed by this woman”.

Mr Igbinigie conclude that “Now we do not have any information about the woman or our son and we could not even trace the Alhaji in Kano. That is why we are making this appeal for the public to help us find our son”.

Meanwhile, there are indications that even Alhaji Bello is concerned about the whereabouts of his wife, and suspects that Bright Igbinigie forced her to commit abortion and says he may have disappeared with her. He vowed to get him and make him face justice.#
