OWERRI : Nigerian security forces have intensified hunt for Field Commanders and fighters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who are presently on the run after the Orlu clash with soldiers.
There has been tension in Orlu, second largest city in Imo State, South Eastern Nigeria as Military forces conduct airstrike in search of Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The strikes which started on Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2021, are not unconnected with the Nigerian Military’s resolve to dislodge the Eastern Security Network operatives said to have strongholds in the forests

This is the second time the Military is conducting a search for the ESN in Orlu, since it was launch on December 12, 2020 by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB

Since then, the search has continued on a regular basis as a community head revealed that: “Nigerian soldiers are currently conducting aerial strikes in our areas. Many innocent lives have been lost. They are probably looking for ESN operatives who are determined to halt the activities of killer Fulani herdsmen and the Continuous marginalisation of the people of Eastern Nigeria.

“People’s homes and market places have been affected. We don’t need aircraft in Orlu. They should go and find the stolen school pupils in Niger State” , he said in an angry tone.

Sources close to the Joint Military Taskforce said security forces have identified some notable IPOB Field Commanders leading Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orlu.

” The military and police special forces have compiled the names of notable IPOB field Commanders who must be arrested for interrogation.

“The list include some wanted Pro – Biafra activists like Fidelis Njoku, Emma Agwu, Chinedu Awo, Ben Afuna and many others who had been on the Federal Government’s wanted list since 2014 ” , our sources further revealed.
