It was an ugly scene at the Oleh Township Stadium, Delta state yesterday as the fans of Holly Arrow encroached on the pitch in the week fifteen game with Bendel Insurance FC of Benin and forced the game to an abrupt end.

The game kicked off smoothly with both side playing good football until in the 79th minute when an Holly Arrow striker collided with Insurance Goalkeeper in an aerial contest.

The home fans expected the Referee to punish Insurance Goalkeeper unjustly but because the Referee did not do their bidding, the fans broke the barrier and invaded the pitch to attack the referees and Match Assessor.

They remained uncontrollable for about an hour in spite of all entreaties by some of the home team’s management staff and other lovers of the game.
