IGUEBEN – Some Academic and Non – Academic Staff of the Edo State College of Education, Igueben have dissociated themselves from the protest embarked upon by some staff of the College on April 27, 2021.

In a statement jointly signed by the chapter’s former Chairman of the College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Mallam Sadoh Abasi and current Chairman of Non – Academic Staff Union (NASU), Mrs. Osakwe Margaret, the staff said that the views expressed by the protesting staff did not represent the minds of the majority of staff of the college.

According to the statement, the decision to dissociate themselves from the protest was taken at a meeting held at the 350 Lecture Hall by progressive minds of the College, on April 28, 2021.

The statement explains that the re-appointment of the registrar in acting capacity, pending the constitution of Council for the college, did not breach any law governing the college, hence should not warrant protest.
