BENIN CITY – A group under the aegis of Caring Heart Initiative on Secure Our lives campaign has raised fresh alarm over the spate of killings, kidnapping, rape and exploit of women in Nigeria society

The group stressed that Nigeria women and children are the worst hit by current poor security situation in the country

Executive director of the group, Mrs Grace Else Obikina raised the alarm at an awareness camping in Benin city, Edo state capital

Mrs Obikina, posited to that government at all levels must take drastic measures to rescue women and children from such inhuman act, explaining that women were key to societal growth

” women and children bear major brunt arising from wars and conflicts and most often times the worst hit, we are therefore concerned about this spate of violence pervading the nation, we call on to the government to take action to end insecurity and bloodshed” she said.

Also speaking Mrs Debby Erhahon, and Umoru Cecilia lamented the untold agony women went through in the hand of Fulani herders, bandits and other dangerous weapons wielding men across various communities in the country, demanded for urgent steps to rescue women and children from countless pains.

The group further sought the collaboration and dialogue with relevant stakeholders to forestall further bloodshed in the country.
