BENIN CITY- The Benin Zonal Chapter of NBM of Africa Worldwide, a Non-Governmental Organisation has said that its organisation is not in any conflict (War), with the group, ‘Green Circuit Association”, popularly known as “Maphite Confraternity”, nor any other group in Benin City or elsewhere.
The NBM, Benin Zone, therefore, disassociate its members from what It described as senseless, barbaric, unlawful killing of people as well as public disturbance recently in Benin City.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Benin Zonal Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr.Osbert Idahosa, on behalf of the President of the Zone.
Excerpts from the press statement:
“Our attention have been drawn to unfounded report currently trending on social media that the NBM of Africa Worldwide, Benin Zone, a registered and law abiding Organization, committed to the principle of Equality, Social Justice for all is in conflict (War) with the group, “Green Circuit Association” pupularly known as Maphite Confraternity in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.
“We want to state unequivocally here, that the NBM is not in conflict with any group both political and otherwise in Benin City or anywhere in the world and that the current falsehood being spread across social media is a calculated attempt to smear the good image of the NBM, which the Leadership have strived over the years to build.
“We therefore advise those linking the NBM with this barbaric, unlawful killings and public disturbance in Benin City, to kindly desist from such as the NBM shall not hesitate to take legal action against anyone or news medium found wanting.
“We, employ all our esteemed members to further shun violence and other vices inimical to the society and rule of law.
“The leadership of the NBM of Africa, Benin Zone, also wish to pledge our continued support to the Edo State Government, Security Agencies and other relevant stakeholders in the state as we shall not hesitate to hand over any of our member found breaching the law.
“We remain a law-abiding Organisation”, the statement concluded.
