BENIN CITY- Edo State Government has reaffirmed it’s commitment to step up the fight against all social ills in the state and pledged partnership with Christian Faith Drug Rehabilitation Centre to curtail drug addiction and related crimes.

This commitment was made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues, Pastor (MTS) Dorcas Idehen who represented the Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki at the formal declaration and launching of Christian Faith Drug Rehabilitation Centre held on Sunday in Benin City.

The occasion which marked the 60th birthday of Rev. Dr. Andy Eboh, an International Itinerant Global Missionary who is also founder of the centre was graced by representatives of Edo State Government, friends and associates of the celebrants as well as well-wishers from far and near.

“The government of Edo State is happy with Rev. Eboh’s lofty vision of tackling the menace of drug addiction in the society. The Obaseki’s government believes in the same vision and as such we commend your efforts so far. We shall partner with the Center to bring the evil of drug addiction which we believe triggers most of the vices in our society to the barest minimum” Mrs. Idehen remarked.

The celebrant, Rev. Eboh revealing what inspired him to establish the centre said he was involved in drug abuse for 11 years as young man but overcame it through the enlightenment of God’s words and changing his environment.

” I tell you this, many are sick and tired of drugs but how to come out of it is the challenge, this centre will be a safe place to restore the broken life of drug addicts”. Rev. Eboh noted.

Rev. Eboh therefore urged well meaning Nigerians to join the fight against drug addiction in the society “before drug addicts kill us all”, he warned.
