WARRI – The newly posted Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of B’Division, Warri, Delta State, CSP Onana Umar Ari, has sued for cooperation from traditional rulers, civil society organisations, youths leaders and other stakeholders in Warri in order to bring all forms of criminality in the state, especially in Warri and it’s environs to it’s nearest minimum.
CSP Onana Omar Ari , disclosed this while on a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Union of Journalists(NUJ) Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.
He warned criminals gaining more grounds to relocate from the division or repent in their own interest.
“My message to these criminal elements is that, they should repent or relocate, because we are not here to play”.
CSP Onana Omar Ari , called for active support from journalists, traditional rulers and youth leaders saying that their collaboration with the police in the fight against cultism and kidnappings would help to win the war.
Addressing Journalists at NUJ Secretariat in Warri, CP Ari stated that, the police could not single-handedly fight and win the war against criminals without the active support of the public.
“Collaboration of members of the public with the police in the fight against these monsters causing havoc in the society is highly imperative to burst the rings of the criminals,” he said.
Responding, Comrade Dele Fasan, Secretary, NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, who stood in for the Chairman, while wishing the new DPO success in his new assignment, assured him of the Union’s support adding that security is everybody’s business.
