BENIN CITY- it is a well known fact that gay relationship or homosexualism is completely outlawed in Nigeria and also traditionally and customarily taboolous as a forbidden act.
It will be also recalled that during the era of the former president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the early nineties, the then American President, Barrack Obama, and some other world leaders made all frantic efforts to lure the Nigerian President to accept gay relationship as a human right in Nigeria, but the move was, completely and entirely rejected by the people through a powerful legislation by the Federal House of Representatives and Senate.
Before and ever since then, anybody male or female found wanting or contravening it was made to face the wrath of the law and it’s dire consequences as the case may be, anywhere all over the country.
Inspite of the government at all levels and the people’s stand on the issue, the nefarious act has thrown the Omoruyi Family in Benin city into crisis in recent time to the extent that the where about of some of them are presently unknown.
The crisis which came to the public knowledge sometime ago, has been on for a long time since 2020. One of the family members, Emmanuel Noghayin Omoruyi in his late forties is on the run after his illicit relationship with his college boyhood friend, David became exposed.
The police on getting the hint swung into action, tried to track down David in Emmanuel’s house on two occasions, December 20 and 24, 2020 unknowingly that they were no more together. Since then they have been on his trail.
Meanwhile, the Omoruyi family who didn’t take the matter lightly too for Emmanuel’s inaction, vowed that he must perform the sacrifice of cleansing the family and purifying the defied land, with his only female child he got from his late erstwhile marriage with one Miss Iduozee that didn’t really exist as matrimony.
According to a very reliable family source, who wouldn’t want identity exposed said that the matter has become a very big problem in the Omoruyi family. He said that Emmanuel’s elder brother, Michael Ikponmwosa Omoruyi, and the Chief Priest of the family, Mr. Sunday Idahosa have insisted that Emmanuel’s erstwhile wife will produced the child and she too had to be present at the exercise that will take place in the middle of the night in the evil forest.
The source concluded that since then, neither Emmanuel Noghayin Omoruyi, his only child who had been in the custody of the mother and herself can no longer be seen anywhere, all effort to get any of them has been fruitless
