… reiterates zero tolerance for cultism

BENIN CITY – USEN (OVIA-SOUTH-WEST) – The Edo State Polytechnic, Usen in Ovia-South-West Local Government Area of Edo State is to commence Higher National Diploma (HND) programme in Mass Communication beginning from next academic session.

Disclosing this at the 2021 Press Week of the Department of Mass Communication, Rector of the polytechnic, Professor Abiodun Falodun said that the polytechnic has the “best and state of the art equipment” to operate the programme.

Describing the department as a flagship in the polytechnic, Professor Falodun also said that the polytechnic has the best equipment to operate the programme.

He noted that the Mass Communication Department is a viable one, promising that it remains in the number one position in the polytechnic.

According to him, ” in less than two months, the polytechnic will have a functional campus radio,” as payment for the license has been made.

Declaring the department as the flagship in the polytechnic, he also described it as a viable one, promising to ensure that the department remains number one in the institution.

He disclosed that plans are also on to have a School of Mass Communication in the polytechnic.

The Rector used the occasion to inform the students that the polytechnic has zero tolerance for cultism and therefore urged them to shun cultism and its related activities, saying that it is an evil that could destroy their destiny.

Reiterating the state government mandate to the polytechnic management to produce graduates that are job creators, the rector charged the students to, through their commitment to academic pursuit make their parents proud by compensating for their (parents) investment in their education.
