BENIN CITY – The Honorable Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Edo State, Barr. Andrew Emwanta and Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Strategy and Media Projects, Mr Crusoe Osagie, yesterday, led other top government functionaries, including Mr Kolawole, a media consultant, on facility tour to Bender Newspaper Company Limited publishers of the observers titles.
They were received and taken round various departments of the organization by the General Manager, Sir Barr. Solomon Imohiosen, who explained various functions of each of the departments to the inspectors.
At the communication department, the GM, explained that all news stories and any other relevant information are received and distributed through posting to internet before proceeding to the newsroom, the pre- press and the printing press, respectively where the GM told the inspectors that the organization still use the old analogue Kord Machine in printing papers.
He added that for paucity of funds, the organisation would have been producing 1,000 copies per a day, just as he has thanked Governor Obaseki for taking bold steps to revamp the organisation for efficiency and effectiveness to achieve its potentials in terms of media coverage.
He specially thanked Governor Obaseki for providing digital web machine which is aimed at increasing the production output to 10,000 copies per day when it will have officially kicked off operations, stressing that the government has competent manpower, who are committed to the progressive course of Mr Governor to achieve the desired results in the state
