UROMI (ESAN-NORTH-EAST) – Unidentified gunmen have attacked and killed a middle aged lady, Joy Oriazowan in Uromi, Esan-North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, with a threat to kill her brother, simply identified as Harrison who lives in Italy any time he returns to Nigeria.
Though no one has claimed responsibility for the attack and subsequent death of Joy, it was gathered that it may not be unconnected with the unsavory business transaction Harrison had with one of his friends, identified as Elvis (aka Lighter) who also lived in Italy sometime ago.
Harrison and Elvis, It was gathered were into the sale and supply of hard drugs before they were both arrested in Italy and later released.
Following their release, it was also gathered that Elvis who was the superior partner in the drug business was repatriated to Nigeria.
However, speculations are rife that Harrison may have contributed to what was termed illegal deportation of Elvis from Italy.
This development, it was gathered pitched the duo against each other and subsequently, a cold war ensued.
In the heat of the cold war, Harrison was said to have accused Elvis of orchestrating hate speech that was meant to defame his character and incite the public against him.
Over time, the cold war generated by the unfriendly disposition of the duo, was said to have been a matter of concern to Harrison’s family.
Consequently, the family members in Nigeria advised Harrison against his return, following the threat message, “This is the beginning; your son is messing with the wrong person; any day he comes to Nigeria he is a dead man” received by one of them.
Another relation of Harrison who simply gave his name as Peter said that the sour relationship of Harrison and Elvis may not be unconnected with the inability to pay back the money spent facilitating Harrison’s trip abroad.
He wondered why Elvis refused to show understanding over the delayed payment to the extent of threatening his brother’s life.
