KADUNA – Gunmen, suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Sect have on December 23rd, 2021 attacked Aso Dominion Church in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State during church service and killed the Pastor, Festus Abraham and two other members of the church.
According to an eyewitness and member of the church (name withheld), the Boko Haram members who came in about four motorcycles entered the church premises and started shooting sporadically in the air. At the end of the shooting Pastor Abraham and two members of the church were killed, while seven people injured. As the Sect members fled, some courageous church members held one of the Sect members who could not escape. Raphael Abraham, the younger brother of the Pastor and some other youths of the descended on him. He was beaten to death, before the arrival of the police.
It was gathered that Pastor Abraham and his church were the main target as he has been warned several times to desist from his aggressive evangelica work, which is turning most of the youths in the area from Islamic region to Christianity. It was further gathered that when the warnings fell on deaf ears, the Sect members have to attack the church on December 23rd, 2021.
When the Sect members learnt about the death of their members, who according to information was allegedly killed by Raphael, they came back in large numbers and when they did not find anybody in the church, they burnt it down and went in search of him.
It was also gathered that Raphael, who according as n e x t d e e p i n t o evangelical work as the late Pastor, had to flee for his life as the sect members have vow to eliminate him for killing one of their members. The whereabouts of Raphael Abraham is unknown as he has fled for his life
