BENIN CITY – The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General, Shaibu Ibrahim, has vowed to continuously work with relevant stakeholders including financial institutions in the county in order to actualize corps members business dreams.

He made the vow while swearing-in the 2021Batch ‘C’, Stream II Corps members on Monday at Okada, Edo State.

The NYSC DG, represented by the State Coordinator, Mrs. Olubukola Abiodun, said it is no longer news that White Collar jobs are hard to come by and for that reason, the empowerment of corps members for self-employment and wealth creation has been a major area of focus for the scheme since 2012.

Ibrahim said the Corps members are expected to avail themselvese for the opportunity through Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme.

He said many of the ex.corps members who embraced vocational and entrepreneurial training on the SAED platform while serving are now successful business owners.

He assured them of working with relevant organizations to ensure that their dreams and aspirations are meant.

“I therefore, encourage you to stay off the long queue of job seekers by choosing from the various skill sets and participating fully in the training sessions.

“On our part, we shall continue to work with relevant stakeholders, including financial institutions to enable you actualize your business dreams”, he promised.
