ABUJA – President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2021 into law.
The signing ceremony took place inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja at about 12:30 pm yesterday.
Among the dignitaries present to witness the signing ceremony include the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Mahmood Yakubu; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan and a host of others..
The assent is coming a few days after a coalition of Civil Society Organizations staged a protest to compel the President to assent to the amended document.
