BENIN CITY: The Benin Monarch,His Royal Majesty,Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo ,Oba Ewuare II ,Oba of Benin has resolved the lingering crisis bothering on enogie tussle in Igieduma village in Uhunmwode local government area of Edo State.
Oba Ewuare II while resolving the enogie tussle made it categorically clear to the people of Igieduma village that the only recognized enogie by the Palace is Hrh Henry Eholor Eweanosetin , and there should not be any issue regarding who is the enogie or not.
The Oba in his wisdom cautioned one Mr Obasohan Osarenwinda who has been parading himself as the enogie of Igieduma to desist henceforth and work with the enogie for the development of the area.
The Monarch further gave the said Mr Obasohan Osarenwinda ultimatum to go and clean up his house in Igieduma that he painted like that of a enogie or chief, since he is not an enogie or chief ,he does not have the right to do so as what he has done or doing is an act of impersonation.
He then advised those who came with the said Mr Obasohan Osarenwinda to stand behind the enogie and work with him for the mutual benefit of all adding that if they have anything against the enogie they should channel it through the appropriate means and the Palace as a home to everyone will look into the issue.
Oba Ewuare II then mandated two indigene of the village ,Hon Paul Erhahon and the immediate past NUJ chairman Sir Roland Osakue to ensure the directive given to the said Mr Obasohan Osarewinda to have his house clean and scrap off of the inscription he wrote in his house “enogie of Igieduma” is carried out.
In a brief interview after the great Oba of great Benin kingdom , Oba Ewuare II resolution ,the authetic enogie of Igieduma,Hrh Eholor Eweanosetin thanked the Oba for the wisdom in amicably resolution of the crisis in the village
He said since his father the great Oba Ewuare II has resolved the issue , they are happy on the directives of the Oba and he is more than ready to continue to unite the people of the village as he has been doing so that there will be meaningful development in the village
The enogie then used the occasion to call on all the indigenes of the village to close rank with him for the mutual development of the village
