Residents of Sabon-Gari community in Kano State were thrown into mourning when news broke of a middle-aged woman who was reportedly murdered in her residence following a coordinated attack by some unknown gunmen as fears and anxiety grip the community over recent killings.
It will be recalled that similar attacks had earlier taken place in the community early January which led to the murder of a businessman in the community as concerted efforts are underway in unraveling those behind the dastardly attack in the community.
Several sympathizers present at the scene of the attack could be seen narrating their last encounter with the murdered Grace Elegbame, it was gathered .
According to one of the sympathizers, Grace Elegbame, a local trader in one of the markets in Kano, at the close of business on the fateful day was trailed down to her house by the unknown gunmen who instantly murdered her on April 16th 2022.
However some of the sympathizers alleged that the murder of Grace Elegbame was entirely not unconnected with recent happenings in the family following the arrival of one Palmer Ahanor who it was said ran away from cult-related crisis in Benin City to his uncle’s house in Kano State.
Another sympathizer however disclosed that the murder took place in the absence of her husband, Godwin Elegbema who report claimed had been away with nephew Palmer Ahanor when the assailants struck at the family house brutally killing the woman.
Meanwhile, it was understood that until the attack of April 16th, death threats and messages were received by the Elegbema family since the arrival of Palmer Ahanor.
One of such threats letter with symbols bearing 2 crossed Axes was quoted as saying ” Palmer may run but you can’t hide from the Neo Black, we will come for your head” .
It was however gathered that following the attack on the Elegbema family in Kano leading to the murder of Mrs.Grace Elegbame, concerted efforts have been intensified to ascertain the identities of those behind the dastardly act with the launching of a preliminary investigation into the case.
It will be recalled that Palmer Ahanor, nephew to Godwin Elegbema, who hails from Obaretin community in Edo State had earlier fled from all the several death threats from members of an extremely dangerous cult group in Benin City following his vehement refusal to be initiated into the dark world of the cult group which his late father Mr. Palmer Ogbeide until his death was an active member and grand Patron in his community in Obaretin community.
