BENIN CITY- The General Overseer, Divine Evangelical Prayer Ministry Int’l Incorporated, Apostle (Dr.) Samson Enweliku has charged Christians, particularly the women, on the need to embrace Spiritual rebirth and drop the spirit of wickedness, which he stated, is as old as man, even as he released prophesies, exhortations and prayers for peace in Nigeria.

Apostle Enweliku gave the charge during the Church’s “Divine Women Convention” held on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Speaking on the theme of the four-day convention titled, “The faith of faithful women,” Rev. Mrs. J. O. Enweliku, Woman President, Divine Prayer Ministry, reminded women of their roles as intercessors, prayer warriors, fearless leaders, submissive wives and good mothers.

She warned against the arbitrary use of Mummy G.O. as made popular by the controversial Nigerian televangelist whose trademark is to lampoon men of God, and advised the woman of God to backtrack from controversies which divide the church.

Rev. Mrs Enweliku urged the women to draw strength from biblical characters such as Hannah, Deborah, Esther, the Shunamite woman, as well as the woman with the issue of blood who individually defied all odds and obstacles on their way to redemption, hence their perseverance was accounted for them as faith and faithfulness in God, which in turn caused the release of blessings on their nation and families.

While noting that there is no vacuum in nature, she asked participants about their level of faith when she said, “What about you, is it just to clap for others that you are good at, instead of doing exploits?”

When in search of mentors, she pointed to women of God in Edo State such as Mama Margaret Idahosa; Mama Abiola Omobude and Mama Oghosa Agbonifo whom she acknowledged to be powerful voices and role models.

She also reminded women to pray for the nation and their families for speedy answers to difficult situations while referring to Hebrew 11:6, Esther 5:6; Acts 5: 20-34 and Judges 4:1-7 to buttress her exhortation.

On her part, Dr. Mrs. Doris Ayanka-Imalele, Director, Women Welfare who quoted Hebrew 13:5 while dwelling on the topic, “God loves you personally,” stated that everyone has a testimony to tell when we learn to look up and communicate with God in prayers through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dr. Ayanka- Imalele who is also an Ordained Pastor of the Church, told participants, “God is your Godfather, a lover of all, irrespective of class and designation once you have a contrite spirit.”

She charged the women to continually look up to heaven, and cut down on the excessive adoration of men or people as godfathers.

For those already losing faith and confused, and wondering if God truly exists due to numerous unanswered prayers and setbacks, she encouraged such to hold tenaciously to their faith and serve Him as commanded in Ecclesiastics 12:13.

Dr. Mrs. Tawa Idubor, Chairman, Women Convention Planning Committee clarifying on the need for the makeup and gele (Head tye) segment of the convention said, “The difference between kpekere and plantain chips lie solely with packaging.”

She maintained that physical packaging (Branding) of women to look good externally was trite since people are addressed the way they dress or appear.

However, addressing those with low self esteem, she avowed, “You are not looking good to please anybody but to please yourself. Be happy. Happiness is free of charge. You cannot pay for it. If you don’t make yourself happy you shorten your life span.”

Giving a last sound bite, she informed, “You cannot be said to be beautiful yet lack manners and not Christlike even in behavior.”

The 2022 Women Convention provided the leadership of the Church the platform to exhort the Womenfolk on their critical role in the home, Church and Nation at large.
