“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. “1 Tim 6:7

We are in a twisted world. It is also like a sinking ship that spells doom. Yet the people of this world are never sensitive to the dangers in following the evil practices of this world.

Down memory lanes and down the years, people have not learned the truth that they cannot carry anything out of this world when they die. Instead they acquire wealth here and there, right and left, by hook or by crook.

In the world, in Nigeria, many have rejected God, in a strong drive for wealth. The desire for wealth has pulled them out of light into darkness and they hide themselves and their work from light. “for every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” Jn 3.20

The lord Jesus Christ warned the people of this world: “For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Mt 16:26

Now, how much value do you place on your soul? Where would your soul be when you die? Where will you find yourself when your journey is over in this world? Where will you spend eternity when you depart from this world? In eternity without end in heaven or in hell fire

  1. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” 1Jn 2:15

Uncountable are the things that are in the world. Indeed they are in their myriads. But think of the things in the world that can make you forfeit the kingdom of heaven and refuse to love them. Refuse to love sin as they carry a large portion of the things of the world. Sins have multiplied all over the world as they are deep rooted in the glamorous things of this world, in the charming and beautiful things of this world.  Take for instance the love of money: for that purpose many have joined secret societies and have even made rituals with human body or parts thereof. But what will it profit such people if they gain the whole world and lose their souls or end their lives in hell fire on the last day?

Many have seen the things of this world and coveted them. As a result, they take shelters in thick forests to begin kidnapping and killing of human beings. They that do such should quickly quit and repent. Why? The reason is this: “The eyes of the Lord are in every place beholding the evil and the good”. Prov 15:3

There are some who have so much loved the world and the things of this world that they, with dynamite in a terrific way blast and shattered Bank buildings and go away with huge bags of money. There are some also who, so loved the things of this world that they joined the gang of armed robbers. Some love idols, some alcohol, smoking, lying, terrorism, adultery, fornication and other numerous aspects of worldliness. It is not too late to retreat now and come to Jesus Christ. He will receive you.

  1. This world is a twisted world that hates the truth and those who refuse to follow its evil ways: “if the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you if you are of the world, the world would love his own but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hated you.” Jn 15:18-19

The world hated the Lord, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world: “Pilate saith unto them, what shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They also say unto him, let him be crucified. And  the governor said, why what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified” Mt 27:22-23. This world is as wicked. It is a world that loves darkness more than the light

Even now in Nigeria, how many priests have been kidnaped without reason? How many priests have been kidnapped and murdered? How many churches have been attacked and how many church worshippers have been killed? I do not know their numbers: “The eye of the Lord are in every place beholding the evil and the good.” Prov15:3

This world loves inflations. Here in Nigeria inflation is at its height and many rich people make merchandise of it causing greater hardship for the poor. Deceit is one of the things this world loves. That deceit flourishes here in Nigeria. How many times have people deceived themselves prolonging the universities’ strike? I do not know, but Christ knows. So there is great need for repentance.

  1.      Time is winding down. Time is just too short. Sinners, all over the world need to repent and stop following, driving after the thing of the world. The sun is fast setting and darkness will soon come when it will be too late to repent. The world is sinking and all you have to do quickly is to call on the Lord Jesus Christ to rescue you from its wicked and sinking state.

The only way by which you can come to God from this wicked world is Jesus Christ alone: “Jesus saith unto him I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me” Jn14:6

What task lies ahead of us following the command of our Master Jesus Christ? It is this: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mk16:15

In this twisted world, the evil can be presented as good; do not allow the world to teach you how to call what is evil good, and good evil. It is an abomination to God. It is rampant in the contemporary world. Avoid it: “woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light and light for darkness. That put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” Is 5:20 Such people are around us in our societies, offices, politics, governments and in private sectors. Avoid them.
