Asaba – Fear griped as four persons reportedly burnt to death, following a fatal road accident along the busy Ughelli-Warri Road.
The said incident which involved a Sienna Space bus loaded with diesel and a Dangote trailer loaded with cement that was parked along the road.
It was alleged that the trailer driver and the two motor boys were taking their rest before continuing with the journey.
According to an eyewitness who preferred condition of anonymity said that, the Sienna Space bus was driving against the traffic and ran into the trailer.
The eyewitness added that the bus immediately went up in flames due to the diesel it was carrying, burning the bus and the driver, the trailer driver and the two motor boys in their sleep beyond recognition.
The sienna driver who attempted to escape from the fire was unsuccessful due to the volume of the fire.
In a related development, a woman who went to the scene of the accident was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle while crossing the road.
The double accident led to the blocking of the east west road for a while, causing serious traffic jam.
As at the time of filling the report, the corpses of the drivers and the motor boys had been taken to the hospital morgue.
