Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has enjoined all citizens of the State to make security an utmost priority.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation Hon. Andrew Adaze Emwanta during a meeting with members of the Sapphire Shield Security and Safety Awareness Initiatives in the Ministries premises lauded the Non Governmental Organization for their efforts towards collaborating with the State Government in order to ensure that crime is brought to the barest minimum in the State.

The Governor who assured members of the NGO of support encouraged other NGOs to take the initiative of joining hands with the government to make Edo the best that it can be.

Governor Obaseki further explained that security is a key factor in the development of the State, as a secured atmosphere will invite investors which will in turn improve the State’s economy.

“The Edo State Government is the first to establish the State Property Protection Committee whose duty it is to protect the lives and property of Edo People,” he noted

Earlier, the State Coordinator Sapphire Shield Security and Safety Awareness Initiatives, Rev Dr. Sheriff Azeke appreciated the Governor for his warm welcome and developmental strides in the fight against insecurity in the State.

While intimating the Governor on an upcoming security campaign scheduled to  hold on the 1st of October 2022, Dr.  Azeke explained that the Organization is focused on the security of the people,
