1. It is most amazing to see from the Scripture how Angels glorify God in heaven: “…the Seraphim’s; each one had six wings with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet and with twain he did fly. and one cried unto another, and said Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory” Isaiah 6:3. This class of angels were glorifying God acknowledging the holiness of God day and night. It is also most awesome to read how people in heaven were glorifying God: “And after all these things I heard a great voice of much people saying, Alleluia: Salvation and glory, and honour and power, unto the Lord our God.” Rev 19:1 We can see that in heaven, both Angels and people are glorifying, praising God, exalting His holy name. All the time they honour and magnify the name of God; it is all days because there is no night there.
Even here on earth we see how the people of old bestowed glory upon God, how David in particular lifted high the name of God, how he acknowledged the excellence of God in praises and adoration, and in worship: “Thine O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the Kingdom, O Lord and thou art exalted as head above all.” I Chro 29:11.
We ought, always to worship God for all his greatness and his excellence and majesty.
2. Millions of people all over the world have wasted their lives and precious hours on earth without glorifying God while on earth. Instead, they magnify and lift high idols and call it culture and tradition and custom. For how long would they continue in error, in darkness and in blindness? They are as blind as their idols which they carved with eyes which cannot see. These idols are even carved out with hands which cannot lift even an ant from the ground. This ought not to be so. Rather we should start to accord God all honour and adoration praising and magnifying Him, the Creator of heaven and earth: “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” Gen 1:1
Do you still worship idols? Do you still join them to worship the idol which is carved for your family or for your community? Are you still wasting your precious life in praising idols and making sacrifices to them? The word of God says you should come out from them because light has no communion with darkness; Christ no concord with Belia II Cor 6:14-18. Sometimes, people assemble to worship God, but in their midst there are some who roam their eyes about looking for one thing or the other, with their hearts far away from God. Do you belong to that group whose minds are far away from God? Do you belong to that group whose minds are far away from God while others are glorifying God in lifting His name higher? There should be a difference from now. Your spirit, soul and body should exalt the Lord.
3. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” I Cor. 6:20. “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committed fornication sin against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of God the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God”? I Cor. 6:18-19.
Not many people know that for worship to be meaningful to God, there should be consecration. You have to consecrate yourself to God before you can worship the Lord effectively. To many, they think it is permissive to keep on fornicating and committing adultery always without repentance but confess it regularly. There is no consecration in that. It is mere hypocrisy. Those that will worship God must do that is spirit and in truth. Are you one of those who still take pleasure in uncleanness and wasteful lives and think they wordship God? If you are, there is a way out of that. Just come to Christ, he will give you a new life with which you would worship God: “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” II Cor 5:17.
The Lord Jesus Christ can create a new life, a new heart in you and you will never be the same again. You will now consecrate your life to Christ, to God.
4. Definitely, God can be glorified in your work. People can ever see your work and glorify God by that: “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matt 5:16.
Salvation is by faith through grace. But while people see your good works, they will glorify your Father in heaven. That makes your works glorious, because people are magnifying the name of the Lord by it.
God is never glorified in you if your work is stealing and armed robbery, God is not glorified in your work if you are in Boko haram, killing others; God is not glorified in your work if you are still in human or child trafficking, kidnapping, in yahoo, in diverting government money to your personal account either in Nigeria or outside Nigeria.
Today, come out from them and allow your life to be dedicated to God so that you can now worship God, exalt Him truly and magnify Him with your whole heart. Then you can worship God with your songs even lifting your hands unto Him with praises and adorations.
While you glorify and worship God the Holy Spirit can make you speak in an unknown tongue. See this scripture: “Thou art worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created” Rev 4:11. When rejoicing you also worship God and magnify His Holy name; “There is none holy as the Lord, for there is none beside thee; neither is there any rock like our God”. I Sam 2:2. Also worship with adoration: “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God be honour and glory forever and ever Amen” I Tim 1:17.
