Hon. Osasere Evbuomwan, Commissioner for Special Duties distributing some relief materials to beneficiaries in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.

We are aware that people have lost so much to the recent flooding, which has now become a global concern as floods have ravaged many towns and cities across the world. As a government, we are working diligently to address the remote and immediate causes of the flooding and to mitigate the impact of these kinds of disasters in the future. I am here to present you with some relief materials. We are aware that this doesn’t make up for all that has been lost. However, this is one of the many ways that Edo State will be showing her deep concern for the well-being of the flood victims.

We encourage everyone, organizations and well-meaning individuals, to provide whatever form of support they can to the affected communities.

We must all stand by each other in times of need. While we are aware that natural disasters cannot be completely avoided, the Edo State Government pledges to continue to take steps that will reduce the reoccurrence of such disasters in the State.

Ojimah Christopher, Chairman Emergency and Management Committee, Esan South East, expressed gratitude to Governor Obaseki for his goodwill and support for the people of Esan South East, assuring adequate distribution of the relief materials.
